I rely on Yelp quite a bit when looking for restaurants and that's how I found Deetjen's while planning our trip to Big Sur. It was highly reviewed not only for the great food but its surroundings too. We got a hint of what was coming and being there in person was so so lovely. The restaurant was cozy, rustic, warm, and surrounded by vegetation and music. We had brunch in the private dining room on an oversized wooden table and church pew seating. The huevos rancheros and eggs benedict were hits as well as the pancakes bigger than Amelia's head. We'll have to stay there next time we go to Big Sur.

She likes taking pictures mostly of food, but since the recent population explosion in her family, cute nieces and nephews show up much more frequently in her Picasa files. She hearts cake, ice cream, macarons, cotton candy and fancy desserts!
